Maca

Maca (Lepidium peruvianum) is a root vegetable in the brassicae family, grown in the high mountains of Peru for over 2,600 years. Our organic maca is from traditional family growers at 14,500 feet in the Andes mountains, it is the highest altitude crop in the world, and is a storehouse of:

  • Minerals, vitamins and fiber
  • All essential amino acids
  • Potassium, iron and calcium
  • Sustainable energy and potency
  •

This adrenal adaptogen has the power to help the body handle and recover from stress, and may promote increased immunity and brain function.* Traditionally used by indigenous cultures of Peru to increase vitality, fertility, and to build strength and stamina.* It’s an excellent daily boost for athletes!

    Maca may also:

  • Boost adrenal function*
  • Help to maintain healthy levels of energy throughout the body*
  • Improve and balance hormones by restoring the healthy functioning of the endocrine system (the body’s hormone producing organs).*
  •

Results of numerous maca studies have found it to help improve the body's regenerative and reparative capacity, promoting systems functioning healthfully, largely due to its support of the endocrine glands.* Maca may be useful for people in all stages of life, and could be especially useful for perimenopausal and postmenopausal women.*

Our providers help harvest alongside the farming communities every year, and this relationship allows us access to first choice of each harvest, resulting in premier maca in our superfood powders. Low quality maca often contains molds and pesticides.

See our quality standards information to find out why we guarantee no contaminants make it into our powders.
